Rusal's statement represents the first time a major Russian company has made a statement on this issue
Aluminum producer Rusal, the largest company in the sector outside China and majority controlled by the En+ group, in which Russian tycoon Oleg Deripaska is the main shareholder, has called for a "thorough" investigation of the Bucha massacre, although it avoids directly accusing Russia of what happened.
"We believe that this crime must be thoroughly investigated. We support an objective and impartial investigation of this crime and call for severe punishment for the perpetrators," says Rusal board chairman Bernard Zonneveld, a Dutch national.

Rusal's statement represents the first time that a major Russian company has made such a statement. The Rusal chairman also calls for an end to the "fratricidal" conflict in Ukraine "as soon as possible".
Oleg Deripaska, who in 2018 had to resign from the management of Rusal, although he currently holds almost 45% of the shares of En+, Rusal's main shareholder with 56.88%, had already urged a few weeks ago to put an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine. "The priority is to stop this as soon as possible," he demanded.
