On the same day, Monday 27, they will resume the mobilizations and will prevent the entry and exit of material to and from the San Cibrao factory.

This was agreed at an assembly held this Wednesday morning: Alcoa workers will return to an indefinite strike at the industrial complex of San Cibrao, in A Mariña, starting next Monday. From that day on, they will prevent the entry and exit of material from the factory. They will also resume mobilizations.

They understand that the process for the sale of the primary aluminum plant is "at a standstill, broken" and that a year and a half has been lost without any steps being taken for the sale. Neither Alcoa nor the Government have been able to materialize the sale. Furthermore, the decision of the Supreme Court on the ERE presented by Alcoa to dismiss 500 aluminum workers is still pending. javascript:false

Alcoa demands from the Government a stable energy framework that allows the primary aluminum plant to be competitive in order to have interested buyers. Until the energy framework is solved, Alcoa does not plan to start the sale process; this is its condition, presented to the Minister of Industry last July.
